It is difficult to portray the extent of damage to the carpets; photos barely do justice to the mess. When the carpet shop owner came to measure up for new ones he joked that it was the type of house where you would wipe your feet on the way out!
The kitchen floor fared little better.
The kitchen worktops, which had been as good as new, suffered the same abuse.
As well as the general damage, the worktops had never been wiped dry, which caused them to rot. This meant that the wall behind them had to be replastered. Note also the filth of the tiles.
The kitchen was thick with grease and dog hairs. Here's a close up of a kitchen wall light.
Even the fridge and freezer drawers were broken. Karen Holliday left behind only whatever she and her family had destroyed. (And a ton of sweets and a frozen ready-meal).
Due to Karen Holliday's negligence, damp had crept through the wall and blown the plaster.
The dining table, which had been as good as new, was destroyed, as were several chairs.
Many door handles were missing and those which remained were damaged.
Karen Holliday stole two of our settees and left this wreck behind. Obviously it wasn't worth taking or she'd have taken it - along with the dimmer switch and even the light bulbs.
Unlike the dimmer switch, which was stolen, Karen Holliday did leave some of the sockets behind.
And she even attempted a bit of "redecoration" in some rooms. Here's an example.
The garden was a wasteland. All the trees, shrubs and plants were gone. Apparently this happened within a month of Karen Holliday's occupancy.
All that remained were some half-buried traces of where the archway had been. And a "water feature"...
Karen Holliday and her family destroyed a thriving herb garden and replaced it with this "feature" - a pile of concrete rubble and a plastic bucket of stagnant water.
Despite removing any of our property she fancied, such as Dave's "WorkMate", Karen Holliday left plenty rubbish behind, including an old washing machine - and we had to pay to have it taken away.
Just in case you haven't yet got the idea of what Karen Holliday did to our home, here are a few pics of the mattress. It looked as though it had been pissed on every night for the past four years.
